Safe Blogging

Video #1: Think Before You Post
This Video was about a girl who posted a picture of herself on a school bulletin board representing the internet. Soon, most of the school had a copy of it, since once it was put on, you could remove it, but a new one would take its place.
Reaction:
I thought it was a good video to inform kids about the dangers of posting yourself on the web, and how, once you put it in, you couldn't take it off.
Vidoe #2: Add Counsel and National Crime Prevention Counsel...
This video was about a girl saying nasty things about another girl in front of a large audience. The large audience represents everyone on the web and the girl posted the mean things she was saying.
Reaction:
I thought this was a good video with an excelent message: Stop Cyber-bullying
Video#3: Online Sexual Exploitation
This video is about how a sexual predator and a little girl were talking about what they think about people they meet on the internet.
Reaction:
I thought this video was a little confusing, but it has a good message: you can't trust everyone, no matter how nice they seem to be.

Globalization

The world is becoming so 'smaller' if you think about it. With new technology in communication, almost nothing could stay a secret for long. Information comes and goes back and fourth without restriction. There are also some benifits though, such as, in early days, it took almost years to get from 1 side of the world to the other, but now it takes a few hours with plane travel. Communication took so long, battles were fought weeks after a peace treaty was signed, now it takes 30 secconds to communitcate with everyone using a radio or phone. Travelers used to walk 15 miles a day before resting. Now we get over 300 with a car before stoping at a hotel. People used to have to work right next to their houses, now they might live 60 miles away from their workplace. In conclusion, the world is getting easier, but very 'smaller'.
